How to start playing?

To play the old Dota, you need the old game client. This is not a mod: it's the real Dota from 2015.

IMPORTANT: do not press match search in the game itself

While the game is downloading, join us at Telegram and Discord! There's a lot of interesting stuff there, and they'll help you if you encounter any difficulties.

This site was created for playing with other people: you can't simply press search in the client itself, as it will start a search in the current version of the game.

Therefore we have our own matchmaking, for which you need to log in via Steam. This is safe and required to search for online games.

IMPORTANT: The Steam account for the game and on the site must match.

You need to complete the training on the site: it's a regular game against bots. This will get you used to the old Dota, introduce you to the original heroes and their abilities, and set up the game and binds to your preferences.

What you will have to do:

1. IMPORTANT: Game servers are located within the Russian Federation. Players from Ukraine may benefit from a tool to bypass provider blocks.
2. Start searching for a game in mode Bots
3. Accept the found game
4. Launch Steam, then start the game client
5. Join by clicking the button or using the console command
6. Defeat the bots
