Getting Started
How to start playing
Three steps. You already have Steam — nothing else needed.
1
Download the launcher
One installer. It will pull the client you need — we won't touch your original Dota 2.
2
Launch Steam
The launcher will automatically pick up your account from the running Steam — no need to enter separate logins or passwords.
3
Jump into the queue
Pick a mode, find a match, play. Five minutes from launch to the first creep.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is this legal?
Yes. We use original Dota 2 clients, and the matchmaking and servers are our own — Valve is not involved in this scheme.
Can my Steam account be banned?
No. Games run on our servers, VAC can't reach them. A ban is only possible if you bring your own cheats — but that's not on the launcher.
What operating systems does it work on?
Windows — natively. On Linux and macOS — via Wine/Proton.
What are the system requirements?
Old Dota 2 ran on Source 1 and was noticeably lighter than the current version. A dual-core processor from 2.8 GHz, 4 GB of RAM, and a video card like GeForce 8600/9600 GT or Radeon HD 2600/3600 is enough.
What happens to my original Dota 2?
Nothing. The launcher installs a separate client — the original Dota is in no way connected to the old one and coexists peacefully.
